Grief and Loss: Remembering the Good Times

  • UCS Wellness Center 227 East Belt Blvd. Richmond United States (map)

Community Partnership Luncheon

Grief is the normal process of reacting to a loss.  It is the rollercoaster of emotions we feel when we lose something of value we did not want to lose.  Grieving comes from the Latin word "gravare" which means to burden or make feel heavy.  And that’s what we feel – weighed down.  We feel burdened.

Our Grief and Loss "Remembering the Good Times" discussion will be co-facilitated by Robin Hornstra, LCSW, RPT. Robin Hornstra has been a LSCW since 1996 and most of her experience has been with children and families. She has a clear understanding of working with individuals who struggle with trauma, grief and loss.

Also co-facilitating the conversation will be Pastor Robert Winfree who teaches "you cannot love others until you love yourself", when that happens the healing can start". Using scripture, he guides individuals through the grief and loss process.
